Senior Protocol Quality Assurance Engineer                                                                           (Back to Hiring)

Dyyno, a Palo Alto startup that is still in stealth mode, is looking for a smart, motivated, quality assurance engineer to help bring a game-changing consumer communications application to market. Dyyno was founded by seasoned entrepreneurs in the technology and Internet space and is funded by top-tier VCs.

We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented QA engineer to lead functional and performance testing for our peer-to-peer protocol and to manage our growing QA team. This individual will work closely with the development team to verify and benchmark protocol design changes, new features, and iterations of already existing features.

Responsibilities will include: creating and executing test plans, creating automated regression suites for Dyyno software, building and scaling a test lab, developing data mining and analysis tools, reporting defects to engineers, and tracking bugs and performance metrics. Most of the day-to-day work will involve hands-on testing.

Additional responsibilities may include light systems administration tasks.

Requirements:

  • strong understanding of TCP/IP protocol stack
  • experience developing or testing network protocols or distributed systems
  • strong theoretical and analytical skills
  • experience in multimedia streaming, video coding, and P2P protocols desired
  • excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills
  • knowledge of UNIX and shell scripting
  • proficiency in one or more scripting languages (e.g. PERL, Python, TCL)
  • management experience
  • bachelors or masters degree in computer science or a related field
